The Dead Head...

Image hosting by Photobucket

He guards his space jealously,
He puts up a wall all around him.
To keep out the wolves, baying at the door
He withdraws into his own coccoon.

To seek peace he takes drugs galore
To numb his feelings
he knocks consciousnesses to the floor.

Slowly he passes out.... {Knocked out Loaded}

Only to be awoken safely
Right on Lucifer’s front door.

Its a living hell, eaten up alive in
the enviorns of his befuddled mind

In an ocean of dreamless sleep.
he looks for sweet release..

Why does he seek this escape?
What demons haunt him?

I wonder whether he himself really knows…

  1. Well, after a point, it's quite irrelevant whether a 'trip' is a user's refuge from boredom/problems... the addiction just takes over.

  2. I think it has more to do with wanting to be numb...
sometimes you just want to do something to stop the thinking...you could use the quite and you could do without the conflict...
    Great post Z...

  3. me thinks, there's only one motive for the addicts...yeah, booze, stub, dopers and all...
they just wanna run away from the pain...a.k.a. tension, stress, frustrations, failure...whatever...
but me thinks they are cowards...spineless jackasses...

whoever you wanted to ping should have got the message...

  4. sometimes reality seems so damn bitter and ugly that one just wants to run away...where there is nothing and no one

"In an ocean of dreamless sleep.
he looks for sweet release.." - thats exactly the point. he does not even want to be bothered by his own dreams.

"Why does he seek this escape?" - because he's fed up.

but having said all this, i still feel that escaping reality is no solution. facing it is.

    great post. :)

  5. Hmmm a truly wonderful way to spread the message! I have had my share of drug experimentation (only LSD to be precise) after i read about them and was truly taken by what they could do! It was wonderful and lived to its standards but after a while when it became boring i gave it up cos it had nothing new to offer to me atleast. I believe there's a very fine line b/w drug use and abuse which unfortunately the people in general don't seem to care about and this piece can sure be an awakening of sorts. Cheers! :)

  10. if this life we lead is a 'living hell'; lucifer's door isn't too far and the devil's workshop is far too close.
