Knight Errant.

I have been reading DON QUIXOTE AGAIN & have come to realize that Miguel De Cervantes was a very clever writer indeed.

Somehow this book still makes sense to me, though the time of Knight Errants may never have existed, (or then if one believes DON Quixote, how can all that history and books of Chivalry be a lie.), the strange madness of Don Quixote strikes a chord within me.

Cervantes plays upon the human need to withstand suffering, which is one reason the Knight awes us.
There are strange echoes of Hamlet in Don Quixote but they are vastly different, Shakespeare cannot be found in his words, but Cervantes looms large in his book, there is always suffering but the stoic nature of DON Quixote, made me admire that Strange Man from La Mancha & his Valiant Squire Sancho Panza more and more.

The New Translation by Edith Grossman is simply brilliant and there are passages in the book which seem modern and not SOME 400 odd years old
